I graduated from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities with a BA in Professional Journalism in 2021 and started working at Dunn Brothers in Marketing during my last semester of school.

After working for a year and a half and feeling like I wanted a bit more creativity in my day-to-day, I started doing a little bit of research on graduate programs in design and reached out to MCAD to ask a few questions about the Master in Graphic and Web Design program. And the rest was history (no, seriously).

I powered through the program in 2 years while doing freelance in marketing, design and photography and couldn't be happier with the position I landed at Tempo post-graduation.

Well, that's a loaded question isn't it? For today, my future goals in this career path are to learn as much as I absolutely can and continue to increase my knowledge, my skill set and my confidence in the tech field.

During this Master's program (and now 6 months beyond), I truly feel like I've found the path that feels right for me to continue on, and while I can't promise my goals won't adjust with the future, I can confidently say graphic and web design is where I'll be staying.

I'm so glad you asked! My biggest project is continuing on with BookMark. To protect the project, there is a pending patent application, and I've also begun development planning. While native app building feels a bit daunting, I am attempting to build a beta myself (do you know how much it costs to have someone else build an app for you? a lot) through careful implementation planning and relying heavily on those in my network who are much more skilled at development than I am.

Other than that, I do try and find the time when I can to read books, enjoy the outdoors and hang out with my golden retriever, Bernadette. Feel free to reach out if you want dog pictures!
